Going Office Mode

Working from home has become a bit of a non-negotiable for me. It frees up so much time, I feel more relaxed, and my job doesn't really require me to be around anyone else in person so it can feel a bit of a waste coming into the office, especially if I'm the only one from my team there.

However, I'm infinitely more productive when I do visit the office, so what gives? I think it almost completely comes down to an internal association in my mind that office === work; my brain feels like it's "correct" to be working in the office, so it doesn't feel as much resistance to starting, and it's less eager to get distracted.

I think it's important, therefore, to try and get my brain into "office mode" even when I'm working from home. For me, this means changing out of my pyjamas, eating a proper breakfast, and carrying out my daily routine like normal. It's easy to convince myself I don't really "need to" do these things, that I'm "just as productive" working from my bed with a blanket wrapped round me, but deep down I know it's not true and I'm just looking for an excuse to be a bit lazy.
